REGINALD A. BESS has been named president of the College Language Association, an international organization of English and world languages scholars. Bess holds a bachelor’s degree in education with concentrations in German and Spanish from West Virginia State College (now University); a master’s degree in library science from Grambling State University; a master’s degree in German literature and philology and a Ph.D. in medieval German studies, both from The Ohio State University
