Laurie CarterLAURIE CARTER has been appointed president of Lawrence University. She is the first person of color to hold the position in the school’s 174-year history. Currently president of Shippensburg University, Carter holds a bachelor’s in communications from Clarion University, a master’s in communications from William Paterson University and a law degree from Rutgers University.
