CASSANDRA VOLPE HORII has been named assistant vice provost at the California Institute of Technology. Founding director of Cal Tech’s Center for Teaching, Learning, and Outreach, Horii was previously dean of the faculty at Curry College in Milton, Massachusetts. She holds a bachelor’s degree in physics from the University of Colorado Boulder and a Ph.D. in atmospheric chemistry from Harvard University.
