Sarbani BasuSARBANI BASU has been appointed the William K. Lanman, Jr. Professor of Astronomy at Yale University. A member of the faculty since 2000, Basu is the current chair of the Department of Astronomy at Yale. Basu holds a bachelor’s from the Women’s Christian College in Chennai, India; a master’s in physics from the University of Poona in Pune, India; and a Ph.D. in physics from the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research in Mumbai, India.
