Indiana Black Expo president going to Ivy Tech Community College

INDIANAPOLIS

The president of Indiana Black Expo is stepping down to take a job heading the fundraising efforts for Ivy Tech Community College.

Joyce Rogers will become Ivy Tech’s vice president of development in November.

She has been Black Expo’s top leader since early 2005 after the death of the Rev. Charles Williams. She previously spent four years as the organization’s chief operating officer.

Black Expo has 12 chapters across the state promoting black social, economic and cultural life.

Word of Rogers’ resignation comes as the group prepares for its annual Circle City Classic football game and festivities this weekend in downtown Indianapolis.
