Ozarks Technical Community College Appoints First Director of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion

Daniel Ogunyemi has been appointed Ozarks Technical Community College’s (OTC) first director of diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI).

According to census data, 8% of residents in OTC’s 12-county service region are non-white. Yet, non-White enrollment in the school system is 18%.

One of Ogunyemi’s first goals is to listen.

“I want to listen to anybody willing to talk,” Ogunyemi said. “From what I’ve found, most people are willing to talk. All of us have a story, and I want to listen to them because those stories will impact how I do my job.”
