GRETCHEN HOLBROOK GERZINA
GRETCHEN HOLBROOK GERZINA has been appointed dean of the Commonwealth Honors College at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, effective July 15. She was chair of the department of African and African-American studies, a professor of English and Kathe Tappe Vernon Professor of Biography at Dartmouth College. Gerzina earned a bachelor’s from Marlboro College, a master’s from Simmons College and a doctorate from Stanford University.

HOUSSAM TOUTANJI has been named dean of the College of Engineering and Applied Sciences at Western Michigan University, effective July 1. He was a professor and chair of the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at The University of Alabama at Huntsville. Toutanji earned a bachelor’s and a master’s from Northeastern University and a doctorate from Worcester Polytechnic Institute.

JULIET WEISSMAN has been named chief administrative officer of the technology campus of Cornell University. Weissman was vice president of organizational effectiveness at the College Board. She earned a bachelor’s from Harvard University.

NANCY TARGETT has been appointed interim president of the University of Delaware. She was dean of and a professor in the College of Earth, Ocean, and Environment at Delaware. Targett earned a bachelor’s from the University of Pittsburgh, and a master’s and a doctorate from the University of Maine.
