ON THE MOVE

LISA BARONIO has been named vice president for advancement at the University of North Texas and director of development of the UNT Foundation. She previously served as vice president for development for the University of Connecticut Foundation. Baronio holds bachelor’s degrees from the University of Iowa and a master’s from the University of Nebraska at Omaha.

DR. MILTON BLACKMON is associate dean of the College of Arts and Sciences at Duke University (N.C.). Most recently, he was assistant dean of the college. He earned a bachelor’s from Oakwood University, a master’s from Fayetteville State University and a doctorate from the University of Akron.

DR. FERNANDO FIGUEROA has been named provost and vice president of instruction at Del Mar College (Texas).Most recently, he was dean of University Studies at Tyler Junior College. Figueroa has a bachelor’s from Loyola University and a master’s and doctorate from Louisiana State University.

DR. T. ALAN HURWITZ is president of Galludet University (D.C.). He previously served as president of the National Technical Institute for the Deaf. Hurwitz holds a bachelor’s from Washington University, a master’s from Saint Louis University and a doctorate from the University of Rochester.

DR. RAJA K. IYER is dean of the School of Business and Technology at Capella University (Minn.). He was dean of the College of Business Administration at Tarleton State University. Iyer received a bachelor’s, master’s and doctorate from the University of Minnesota.

DR. ELMIRA MAGNUM has been appointed vice president for budget and planning at Cornell University (N.Y.). Most recently, she was senior associate provost at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill. Magnum earned a bachelor’s from North Carolina Central University, master’s degrees from the University of Wisconsin- Madison and a doctorate from the University at Buffalo.
