Dr. Jason Wingard Named First Black President of Temple University

Dr. Jason Wingard has been selected president of Temple University, becoming the school’s first Black president.

Wingard is the former dean and professor of the School of Professional Studies at Columbia University.

He has also served as chief learning officer at Goldman Sachs; founder and chairman of The Education Board, Inc; vice dean of the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School and executive director of the Stanford Educational Leadership Institute at Stanford University.

Wingard holds a bachelor’s degree in sociology (organizational behavior and social psychology) with honors from Stanford University, a master’s in education (professional development) from Emory University, a master’s degree in technology in education from Harvard University and a PhD in educational leadership (education, culture and society) from the University of Pennsylvania.
