Deaver Foundation to Fund Spanish Scholarship for 1,000 School Personnel, Health Care Providers

BOYNTON BEACH, Fla.

The Deaver Foundation is providing a new Spanish language course grant for 1,000 school personnel and health care providers in the United States and Canada.

SpanishNet College (www.spanishnetcollege.com), an online resource for Spanish learners, is helping provide a special scholarship for the six-month, complete Basic Spanish course.

In the last few years, the United States and Canada have experienced an increase in Hispanic population. Most affected by the need for communication are those in charge of education, as well as health care providers. They must deal with ethnic backgrounds and with language issues from Hispanic students or patients and their families.

The Deaver Foundation grant will pay half the cost of the complete Basic Spanish course for up to 1,000 students.

This special course starts on February 6, 2006, and ends on August 4, 2006. The course is divided into three segments of two months each. Students may attend two convenient online class meetings each week, or work independently under the supervision of a designated Spanish teacher.

The last day for registration is January 25, 2006. Registration forms are available by e-mailing: [email protected]
