Northern State University appoints dean of student affairs

Rhoda Smith has been named dean of student affairs at Northern State University, a position she held once before.

Smith has more than 15 years of experience in working with all aspects of student life, and she will continue initiatives dealing with student life at the university in Aberdeen, said Patrick Schloss, Northern State’s president.

Smith was dean of student affairs at NSU for about a year in 2004 and 2005. She also has worked in Minnesota as a regional admissions counselor for Northern State.

She previously worked for Northwest Technical College and St. Cloud State University, both in Minnesota.
