Professional Appoitments

DR. WILLIAM BYNUM JR. has been named vice president for student services at Morehouse College (Ga.). He previously served as vice president for student affairs and enrollment management at Lincoln University in Pennsylvania. Bynum earned a bachelor’s from Davidson College and a master’s and doctorate from Duke University.

DR. JAME’L HODGES is director of multicultural affairs at Lehigh University (Pa.). Previously he was the coordinator of residential education and leadership at California Polytechnic University-Pomona. He earned a bachelor’s from Virginia State University, a master’s from Florida State University and doctorate from the University of Southern California.

DR. DERREK B. DUNN has been named dean of the College of Sciences & Technology at Savannah State University (Ga.). Previously, he was a department chair in the School of Technology at North Carolina A&T State University. He received two bachelor’s degrees from North Carolina A&T State University, and two master’s degrees and a doctorate from Virginia Tech.

DR. ANAHID KULWICKI has been promoted to associate dean for research at the Florida International University College of Nursing & Health Sciences. She previously served as director of graduate nursing programs at the university. Kulwicki earned a bachelor’s from the American University in Lebanon and a master’s and doctorate from Indiana University.

DR. JEFFREY OGBONNA GREEN OGBAR has been named associate dean for the humanities at the University of Connecticut. He was most recently director of the Institute for African American Studies at the university. Ogbar received a bachelor’s from Morehouse College and a master’s and a doctorate from Indiana University.

DR. CHERYL L. PRESLEY is vice president and dean of student development at Earlham College (Ind.). She previously served as vice president of student affairs at Boston College. Presley earned a bachelor’s and master’s from Colorado State University and a doctorate from the University of Michigan.

DR. CHARLES N. SMITH has been appointed vice president for the division of student affairs at South Carolina State University. He previously served as associate provost and vice president for student services at Alabama State University. Smith earned a bachelor’s and master’s from Virginia Commonwealth University and a doctorate from Virginia Tech.

DR. TREMAYNE WALLER has been named associate director of advising and diversity for Cornell University’s College of Architecture, Art and Planning (N.Y.). He was a director in the Center for the Enhancement of Engineering Diversity at Virginia Tech. He received a bachelor’s from Averett University, a master’s from Radford University and a doctorate from Virginia Tech.

ANITA B. WALTON is director of alumni relations at North Carolina Central University. Most recently, she served as the homecoming and affi nity reunion manager for the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Walton received a bachelor’s from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a master’s from North Carolina State University.
