NORTH CAROLINA A&T STATE UNIVERSITY has received a $450,000 grant from the U.S. Department of Energy for the university’s Waste Management Institute. The James E. Clyburn University Transportation Center at SOUTH CAROLINA STATE UNIVERSITY has received a $48,000 grant from Senior Options, Inc., a senior care facility, to conduct a transportation feasibility study for Laurens County.SOUTHERN ILLINOIS UNIVERSITY has received a $1.5 MILLION grant from the National Institute on Aging to study Alzheimer’s disease. The UNITED NEGRO COLLEGE FUND (Va.) Has received a $508,781 gift from the estate of the late Faye Crawford Bremond for scholarships or fellowships in her name for students at her alma mater, Huston-Tillotson University. The UNIVERSITY OF IOWA has been awarded a $3.6 MILLION grant from the National Institutes of Health for research to understand the genes and disease processes involved in glaucoma.
