What Makes Racial Diversity Work in Higher Education edited by Frank W. Hale, Jr., $26.96 (List price:$29.95), Stylus Publishing, September 2003, ISBN: 9781579220679, pp. 336.  It is a collection of articles by leading scholars and administrators from around the country describing diversity programs that have worked at their institutions to create inclusive campus environments.  Among the institutions discussed are Ohio University,  Harvard, Boston College and the Massachusetts Institute for Technology. Frank W. Hale Jr. was vice provost and professor emeritus at Ohio State University and was a widely sought-after lecturer on diversity. (He died in 2011.) His book has continued to be a resource for educators on many campuses.
