MICHELLE A. WILLIAMS
MICHELLE A. WILLIAMS has been appointed dean of the T.H. Chan School of Public Health at Harvard University, effective July 1. She is the Stephen B. Kay Family Professor of Public Health and chair of the Department of Epidemiology at Harvard. Williams earned a bachelor’s from Princeton University, a master’s from Tufts University, and a master’s and a doctorate from Harvard University.

GREGORY E. TRIPLETT
GREGORY E. TRIPLETT has been appointed associate dean for graduate studies at Virginia Commonwealth University. He was an associate professor of electrical and computer engineering and associate director of the Honors College at the University of Missouri. Triplett earned a bachelor’s from Florida A&M University, a master’s from Florida State University and a doctorate from the Georgia Institute of Technology.

ELIZABETH L. PAUL
ELIZABETH L. PAUL has been named president of Capital University, effective July 1. She is executive vice president and provost at Stetson University in Florida. She is also a full professor of psychology at the university. Paul holds a bachelor’s and a doctorate from Boston University.

Poll: About Half U.S. Students Identify as ‘Hopeful’ and ‘Engaged’
Only about half of U.S. students are “hopeful” and “engaged” in school, while the rest are either not engaged or actively disengaged and stuck or discouraged, according to an annual Gallup Student Poll.

AKINLOLU O. OJO
AKINLOLU O. OJO has been appointed associate vice president for clinical research and global health initiatives at the University of Arizona Health Sciences. He was a professor of medicine and the Florence E. Bingham Research Professor in Nephrology at the University of Michigan. Ojo received a bachelor’s and an M.D. from the University of Lagos in Nigeria. He earned a master’s from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, and an MBA and a doctorate from the University of Michigan.

ANGELIQUE EAGLEWOMAN
ANGELIQUE EAGLEWOMAN was appointed dean of the Bora Laskin Faculty of Law at Lakehead University in Ontario, Canada, effective in May. She is a professor of law at the University of Idaho. EagleWoman earned a bachelor’s from Stanford University, a juris doctor from the University of North Dakota and a master’s from the University of Tulsa College of Law.

CARMEN SOLORZANO
CARMEN SOLORZANO was appointed chief of the Division of Surgical Oncology and Endocrine Surgery at the Vanderbilt University Medical Center. She is a professor of clinical surgery at the medical school and director of the Vanderbilt Endocrine Surgery Center. Solorzano earned an associate from Miami Dade College, and a bachelor’s and an M.D. from the University of Florida.
