NEWTONA “TINA” JOHNSON has been appointed interim vice provost for academic affairs at Middle Tennessee State University. She was a professor of English and director of the university’s women’s and gender studies program. She earned a bachelor’s from the University of Sierra Leone, a master’s from Dalhousie University in Canada, a master’s from Concordia University in Canada and a doctorate from Emory University.

He is a professor, chair of the marketing department and director of the M.S. in Business Analytics Program at Saint Mary’s. ANGELA FELECIA EPPS has been named dean of the Florida A&M University (FAMU) College of Law, effective January 4. She is a professor of law at the William H. Bowen School of Law at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. Epps earned bachelor’s degrees from Cornell College in Iowa and a juris doctor from Creighton University in Nebraska.

CAROLYN MA has been appointed interim dean of the University of Hawaii at Hilo Daniel K. Inouye College of Pharmacy. Ma is also pharmacy practice department chair and an associate professor. She was in charge of operations, faculty and residents for the college on Oahu, Maui and Kauai. Ma received a bachelor’s from the University of Santa Clara and a doctorate from the University of California, San Francisco.

CINDY D. KAM was named William R. Kenan Jr. Chair in the Department of Political Science at Vanderbilt University. She also serves as senior associate dean for faculty in the College of Arts and Science and is the director of the Research on Individuals, Politics & Society Laboratory at Vanderbilt. Kam holds a bachelor’s from Princeton University, and a master’s and a doctorate from the University of Michigan.
