DANIELLE LARAQUE-ARENA has been named president of SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, effective January 14. She is chair of the department of pediatrics at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York, and a professor of pediatrics at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine of Yeshiva University. Laraque-Arena holds a bachelor’s and an M.D. from the University of California, Los Angeles.

SONIA NAJJAR has been named associate dean for research and innovation in the College of Osteopathic Medicine at Ohio University. She was director of the Center for Diabetes and Endocrine Research and a professor at the University of Toledo. Najjar earned a bachelor’s and a master’s from San Francisco State University, and a doctorate from Stanford University.

K. RANGA RAMA KRISHNAN has been appointed senior vice president of the Medical Center and dean of the Medical College at Rush University in Chicago. He was dean of Duke-National University of Singapore Graduate Medical School in Singapore and a professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Duke University Medical Center. Krishnan earned an M.B.B.S. from Madras Medical College in India.

She was the director of the School of Social Work at the University of New England in Portland, Maine. She was an adjunct professor of maternal and child welfare at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Browne earned a bachelor’s from Bennett College, a master’s from the University of Pittsburgh, and a master’s and a doctorate from Harvard University.
