EVELYN MARIA THOMPSON has been appointed president of Coppin State University, effective July 1. She is currently provost and vice president for academic affairs at the State University of New York College at Oneonta. Thompson earned a bachelorâs from Tennessee State University, a masterâs from The Ohio State University and a doctorate from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville.

LORNA LEâANNE SHAW-BERBICK has been appointed dean of the university at Kentucky State University. She was dean of the School of Arts and Humanities at the College of Saint Rose.
