Dr. Cynthia Evers has been appointed vice president of student affairs at Howard University.
Evers, who previously served as the interim vice president, has “demonstrated unwavering commitment to student development, diversity and assessment,” said Howard University President Dr. Wayne. A. I. Frederick.
Evers brings over two decades worth of experience to the role, having worked for the University System of Georgia. While there, she directed $6.5 million in grant funding toward underrepresented student populations.
“I look forward to implementing and supporting innovative programming that will enhance the educational experience for all Howard students,” Evers said.
Evers has also worked internationally, studying education and administrative leadership in Turkey, Italy, and Germany. She received her doctorate in higher education administration and her master’s degree in education administration and human development from George Washington University.
