Despite Shooting, Essex Votes to Keep Firearms Ordinance

Essex town officials have voted against changing the town’s firearms ordinance despite an accidental shooting last year that claimed the life of a former St. Michael’s College professor. According to WCAX.com, John Reiss was killed in September after being hit by a stray bullet. Four men were target shooting down the road have two have since been charged with manslaughter.
