Xavier University Partners with Takeda to Build Center for Health and Tech Innovation

Xaavier TakedaXavier University in New Orleans, the only historically Black and Catholic University in the U.S., has partnered with Takeda, a Japanese pharmaceutical company, in a multi-year effort to improve health equity for marginalized or disadvantaged populations.

The multi-million-dollar investment from Takeda will support the creation of T-REX, Xavier’s new center for technical research and exchange, expected to house health informatics, research findings, and interventions to better health outcomes and community well-being.

“Our students, graduate and undergraduate, often choose to study at Xavier because they envision creating a better future for all,” said Dr. Anne McCall, provost and senior vice president for academic affairs at Xavier. “The grant from Takeda will ensure that we can expand our resources and continue to offer a world-renowned education to and innovative research opportunities for the next generation of global leaders who attend our institution.”
