Students Protest Racist Graffiti at Salisbury University

Fulton HallSalisbury University students held a protest on Tuesday after racist language and threats were discovered in Fulton Hall, a campus building. The latest graffiti, found Monday, read “Sandy Hook comes to SU” followed by a racial slur targeting the Black community. Similar graffiti has been a repeated issue in Fulton Hall this fall.

Students wore all black, calling the protest a “black out,” and marched from Fulton Hall to the Academic Commons, where they met with administrators about the graffiti. They carried signs with messages like “hate has no home here” while shouting chants like “no justice, no peace.”

In a statement, the university pledged to take “immediate action to increase security on campus” and to “continue to meet with students as a long-term plan is determined.”
