The Rutgers Center for Minority Serving Institutions (CMSI) has created a new internship program for master’s students in all disciplines who are seeking research and administrative experience.
The John Smartt Summer Scholars Program, named in honor of the philanthropist John Smartt, will provide the opportunity for interns to work on-site in New Brunswick, New Jersey for six weeks alongside CSMI’s professional and research staff. In addition to garnering research experience, interns may also the opportunity to develop and publish their own scholarship.
“Within this six-week program, our goal is to contribute to students’ growth in ways that will strengthen their skill set, professionally and intellectually,” said CMSI Executive Director Dr. Marybeth Gasman. “We also want students to engage in critical inquiry regarding the current state of higher education.”
