CBS Sportsline Offers College Football Fantasy Game

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla.
Online sports media entity CBS SportsLine.com has developed an Internet-based college fantasy football game, which will be introduced at no charge this 2005 season. The company touts their college fantasy football offering as the first to have backing from a major media organization. CBS SportsLine.com is part of CBS Digital Media.

Participants in “College Fantasy Football,” will be allowed to draft a team of football players from any of the 119 Division 1-A college programs, or customize their player pool to include any conference they choose. Users can create a private league or join a public league and play against college football fans from around the world.

“Combining the passion that fans have for college football with the growing popularity of fantasy football should prove to be a powerful combination. This free product will run on the same platform that has been recognized as the top fantasy football service in the industry for five years running. We expect it to be a very popular game,” says Steve Snyder, general manager of CBS SportsLine.com.

CBS SportsLine “College Fantasy Football” will operate using the same software and product design as the rest of the company’s fantasy sports products on CBS SportsLine.com, including those in professional football, baseball, basketball, hockey, golf and auto racing.
