ACC Basketball Head Coaches

The Atlantic Coast Conference Has More Black Head Basketball Coaches Than Any Other Major Basketball Conference.

By Frank J. Matthews

College basketball generates millions of dollars every season. Blacks make up 70 percent of all players in Division I college basketball. The percentage of Black head coaches, however, lags well behind that number. In fact, the Atlantic Coast Conference is the only major conference in which Black head coaches are the majority, with Blacks holding seven of the 12 top jobs.
