Professional Appointments

Dr. Marilyn Sanders Mobley has been named provost at Bennett College for Women (N.C.). She had most recently been associate provost for educational programs at George Mason University. Mobley holds a bachelor’s from Barnard College, a master’s from New York University and a doctorate from Case Western Reserve University.

 

Dr. Mary Beadle has been named provost of Assumption College (Mass.). She had most recently been dean of the graduate school at John Carroll University. Beadle holds a bachelor’s from Mary Manse College and a master’s and doctorate from Kent State University.

 

Dr. William Broussard has been appointed executive director of the Northwestern State University Athletic Association and assistant athletic director of external relations. He was named a Diverse Arthur Ashe Sports Scholar in 2000. Broussard earned a bachelor’s from Northwestern State and a doctorate from the University of Arizona.

 

Dr. Christine Clark has been appointed vice president for diversity and inclusion at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. She had been executive director of the Office of Human Relations Programs at the University of Maryland. Clark earned a bachelor’s from Franklin and Marshall College and a master’s and doctorate from the University of Massachusetts-Amherst.

 

Vernon B. Harper has been appointed associate for academic affairs at the Virginia State Council of Higher Education. He holds a bachelor’s from Pennsylvania State University, a master’s from West Chester University and a doctorate from Howard University.

 

Dr. John H. Jackson has been named president of the Schott Foundation for Public Education. He had previously worked in several roles with the NAACP. Jackson earned a bachelor’s from Xavier University of Louisiana, a master’s and law degree from the University of Illinois and a master’s and doctorate from Harvard University.

 

Brandi P. Jones has been appointed assistant dean of students for community life at Occidental College (Calif.). She had been director of minority student education at the California Institute of Technology. Jones earned a bachelor’s from San Jose State University and a master’s from California State University-Long Beach.

 

Dr. Dwight A. McBride has been named dean of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at the University of Illinois at Chicago. He holds a bachelor’s from Princeton University and a master’s and doctorate from the University of California, Los Angeles.

 

Dr. Kenneth St. Charles has been appointed vice president for institutional advancement at Xavier University of Louisiana. He had most recently been associate vice president for strategic initiatives at the university. St. Charles earned a bachelor’s from Loyola University and an MBA and doctorate from the University of New Orleans.
