Professional Appointments

Dr. Emmanuel Awuah has been named director of the Office of Multicultural Resources and Diversity Awareness at Onondaga Community College. He earned bachelor’s degrees from St. Mary’s Teachers’ College and the University of Ghana, a master’s from the University of Guelph in Canada and a doctorate from Michigan State University.

Dr. Rosalinda B. Barrera has been named dean of the College of Education at Texas State University-San Marcos. Barrera was a member of the national advisory committee on Head Start Research and Evaluation for 1999-2001 and is on the editorial board of several professional journals. She earned both  her bachelor’s, master’s and doctorate from the University of Texas.

Carl D. Burt is the new chief of police at Norfolk State University. Previously he was deputy chief of police for the city of Newport News, Va. He earned an associate degree from Thomas Nelson Community College and a bachelor’s from Christopher Newport University.

Tomás A. Gonzalez has been named director of student resources at the Syracuse University College of Law. Most recently he served with the university’s office of residence life as assistant director and chair of the diversity committee. He earned a bachelor’s from Ithaca College, a master’s from Buffalo State College and a law degree from Syracuse University.

Dr. Bobbie Green is the new director of the MBA Program at New Mexico State University. She has served in the accounting and business computer systems department at the university since 2004. Green earned a bachelor’s from the University of Southern California, a master’s from City University and a doctorate from Seattle University.  

Dr. Pedro L. Martinez has been named provost and vice chancellor for academic affairs at Winston-Salem State University. He most recently served as assistant vice president for academic affairs at William Paterson University. Martinez earned his bachelor’s and master’s from the University of Hartford and a doctorate from Loyola University Chicago.
