FRANKFORT, Ky. — Kentucky State University has dismissed a music professor who also served as director of the school’s band program for the last eight years.
University President Mary Sias declined to give specifics about Kalomo Bailey’s removal. But, Sais told The State-Journal that the move was prompted by a third-party complaint earlier this year. Sais says the school conducted an investigation and held a hearing before dropping Bailey from the faculty on Friday.
Bailey had served as an assistant professor of music and director of the band program since 2005. He led the Symphonic Band, the Thorobred Spirit Pep Band and the KSU Mighty Marching Thorobred Band while teaching conducting and instrumental methods.
