JOYCE JACOBSEN was appointed interim provost and vice president for academic affairs at Wesleyan University. She is Andrews Professor of Economics at Wesleyan. Jacobsen earned a bachelor’s from Harvard University, a master’s from the London School of Economics and Political Science, and a doctorate from Stanford University.

CINDY D. KAM was named William R. Kenan Jr. Chair in the Department of Political Science at Vanderbilt University. She also serves as senior associate dean for faculty in the College of Arts and Science and is the director of the Research on Individuals, Politics & Society Laboratory at Vanderbilt. Kam holds a bachelor’s from Princeton University, and a master’s and a doctorate from the University of Michigan.
