Track and cross country athlete Gabriela Leon of the University of Louisville achieved a 3.81 GPA and is studying health and human
performance. Despite challenges posed by the pandemic, Leon excelled, becoming 2021 ACC outdoor pole vault champion and being named ACC outdoor First Team. She has been named to the athletic director’s honor roll every semester and is a seven-time member of the NCAA All-American Academics Team. “Only a small percentage of university students are able to earn individual conference championships and All-American honors. Gabi has accomplished these goals while pursuing excellence in the classroom and making a difference in our community,” says head coach Dale Cowper.
