Supporting underserved students and improving access to higher education has been one of Junn’s primary areas of focus during her 26 years as a faculty member and administrator within the California State University system. As the chief academic officer at San Jose State, she established the African-American Student Success and Hispanic Student Success Task Forces to improve graduation rates for students of color. She became the fifth woman to lead a Cal State institution when she was appointed president of Stanislaus State in 2016.
