Dr. Pamela Anne Quiroz, University of Houston

Dr. Pamela Anne Quiroz is director of the Center for Mexican American Studies and the Center for Immigration Research at the University of Houston. She is also executive director of the Inter University Program on Latino Research (IUPLR), a national consortium of U.S. Latino, Latin American, and Latino-Caribbean university-based institutes and research centers. At IUPLR, she was attentive to Houston’s Latino art scene, bringing Latino Art Now! and its Spring of Latino Art. Quiroz — who has several fellowships and awards under her belt — has authored two books and more than 40 published pieces, several in high-profile journals, books, and Amicus Briefs submitted to the U.S. Supreme Court.
