BEN BRINEY has been appointed head coach of the Truman State University (Ala.) volleyball team. He previously served as the team’s assistant. Briney earned a bachelor’s from Southwest Baptist University.
DR. LINDA M. BLEICKEN has been named president of Armstrong Atlantic State University (Ga.). Previously, she served as provost and vice president for academic affairs at Georgia Southern University, effective July 1. Bleicken earned a bachelor’s, master’s and doctorate from Georgia State University.
DR. MARY FERGUSON has been named university diversity officer at Indiana State University. She previously served as a senior research analyst in the College of Education at the University of Missouri- St. Louis. Ferguson earned a bachelor’s from UMSL, a master’s from Occidental College in Los Angeles, and a doctorate from UMSL.
DR. GAYLE INSLER is provost and senior vice president for academic affairs at Adelphi University (N.Y.). She has been serving as acting provost since July 2008. Insler earned a bachelor’s from the State University of New York-Stonybrook, and a master’s and doctorate from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.
DR. JOWEL LAGUERRE has been named superintendent/ president of the Solano Community College District (Calif.). He previously served as president for academic affairs at Truckee Meadows Community College. Laguerre earned a bachelor’s from L’Université d’Etat d’Haiti, and two master’s and a doctorate from the University of Kansas.
DR. FELIX MATOS RODRÍGUEZ has been named president of Hostos Community College (N.Y.). He previously served as secretary of the Department of Family for the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico. Rodríguez earned a bachelor’s from Yale University and a doctorate from Columbia University.
V. LYNETTE MITCHELL has been named assistant vice president for finance and administration at Idaho State University. Previously, she served as a business manager at Northern Illinois University College of Education. Mitchell earned a bachelor’s from Saint Augustine’s College and a master’s from Iowa State University.
DR. DANA MURRAY PATTERSON has been named director of the Bolinga Black Cultural Resources Center at Wright State University (Ohio). She previously served as the director of the Coretta Scott King Center at Antioch College. Patterson holds a bachelor’s from Berea College, a master’s from Eastern Kentucky University and a doctorate from Washington State University.
DR. LEKITA SCOTT DAWKINS is the director of foundation relations at Syracuse University (N.Y.). She previously served as director of development/proposal writer for Claflin University. She earned a bachelor’s from the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff, a master’s from Texas A&M University and a doctorate from Florida State University.
