In honor of the 17th anniversary of 9/11, four student organizations at Michigan State University (MSU): MSU College Republicans, MSU College Democrats, MSU Young Americans for Freedom and Young Americans for Liberty at MSU came together and held a memorial event on campus at 6:30 p.m. on Sept. 11.
The memorial service was held at The Rock next to the MSU Auditorium and was open to MSU students, faculty, staff administrators and community members. Participants painted The Rock during the memorial, according to MSU Today.
“It’s important that we set aside our differences to reflect on the day the world changed for us all,” said Ryan Guard, president of Young Americans for Liberty at MSU. “The dust may have settled, but the shock waves continue.”
