U.S. Rep. James E. Clybrun (D-S.C.) will be the keynote speaker at Morgan State University’s (MSU) Fall commencement ceremony on Dec. 13.

Held in MSU’s Talmadge Hill Field House, Clyburn, who is the majority whip in the U.S. House of Representatives, will address a diverse group of more than 500 doctoral, master’s degree and baccalaureate candidates.
“In this current political environment, which has left us facing a deficit in national leadership and moral courage, it is encouraging that we still have voices like that of Congressman James Clyburn and that our graduating students will have an opportunity to hear from him on this joyous occasion,” said MSU President David Wilson.
Congressman Clyburn last spoke at a MSU graduation ceremony in 2005. At the time, the school presented him with an honorary doctorate of public service.
