SSI is a leadership development program for experienced provosts. AASCU launched it in September 2020. In the 2021-22 cohort, nine minority-serving institutions are represented, and provosts hail from small rural to large urban institutions.

"We are delighted to welcome the second cohort of provosts to this highly engaging program," said Dr. Terry Brown, AASCU's vice president of academic innovation and transformation. "The institute offers not only access to the most promising practices and approaches to student success but also a strong, supportive community of peers who are on a leadership journey together."

During the seven-month, hybrid program, fellows in the cohort will build a network and learn from experts in the field. The program receives support through a $1.6 million grant from Ascendium Education Group.
