Wendy Hensel has been named the next president of the 10-campus University of Hawai’i system.
Hensel is currently the vice chancellor and university provost at the City University of New York. She served as provost, senior vice president of Academic Affairs and dean of the College of Law at different times during her time at Georgia State University prior to serving at the City University of New York.
Hensel is a cum laude graduate of Harvard Law School and earned a bachelor’s degree with highest honors from Michigan State University, where she was a Harry S. Truman Scholar and an intern at the U.S. Supreme Court.
