Miranda Bates has been named director of Campus Communications at Fullerton College. Miranda Bates
Bates previously served as senior communications strategist, and later as associate director of strategic communications for California State University, Long Beach’s (CSULB) Office of the Provost and Division of Academic Affairs. In this role, she was chief communications officer to the Provost and Senior Vice President of Academic Affairs. At CSULB, Bates also directed and coordinated high-profile university events such as the annual convocation ceremony, launched the new Academic Affairs diversity, equity, inclusion and accessibility (DEIA) website and worked alongside key divisional leadership to implement cohesive, branded communications across the division. Bates holds both a master’s and bachelor’s degree in English Literature and a minor in Women and Gender Studies from California State University, Fullerton (CSUF) and is the recipient of the 2021 National Council for Marketing and Public Relations (NCMPR) regional Rising Star Award.
