Dr. Diane Reese, George Mason University

Dr. Diane Reese is a veteran in school counseling. She advocates for the profession and trauma-informed practices therein. She serves as an associate professor in school counseling at George Mason University, where she mentors school counselors beginning their careers and those entering school counselor administrator roles. She incorporates equity into her work preparing emerging school counseling Latina female students. Her clinical work integrates trauma-informed expressive art modalities as well as spiritual and religious psychotherapy interventions. Reese further advances DEI efforts by providing leadership as a member of the American School Counselor Association (ASCA) Board of Directors and as chair of the ASCA DEI Committee. Other professional roles include serving in senior leadership with the Virginia School Counselor Association and with the Association of Counselor Educators-School Counseling Network.
