Dr. Maria Klawe, Math for America

Dr. Maria Klawe is a computer scientist, a mathematician, a scholar, and, not least, the president of Math for America. She achieved national and international recognition as a leader in increasing diversity in STEM as the first female president of Harvey Mudd College in Claremont, California. She served as a computer science professor and dean of engineering at Princeton University as well as dean of science, vice president of student and academic services, and head of the Department of Computer Science at University of British Columbia. She holds several professional memberships and academy accolades such as the 2014 Women of Vision ABIE Award for Leadership and No. 17 on Fortune’s 2014 list of the World’s 50 Greatest Leaders.
