President Joseph R. Biden will speak at the University of Delaware (UD) graduation next month, marking the first time a sitting president will speak at a UD commencement.
It will be the fifth time that Biden will address graduates at his alma mater.
“[Biden's] commitment to a lifetime of public service is an inspiring example for our graduates, as well as all our students and alumni, of what they can accomplish with a UD education, whatever path they may choose in life," said UD President Dr. Dennis Assanis.
Students and their guests have been advised by UD spokespeople to anticipate heightened security at the event.
