President Biden to Speak at University of Delaware Commencement

President Joseph R. Biden.President Joseph R. Biden will speak at the University of Delaware (UD) graduation next month, marking the first time a sitting president will speak at a UD commencement.

It will be the fifth time that Biden will address graduates at his alma mater.

“[Biden's] commitment to a lifetime of public service is an inspiring example for our graduates, as well as all our students and alumni, of what they can accomplish with a UD education, whatever path they may choose in life," said UD President Dr. Dennis Assanis.

Students and their guests have been advised by UD spokespeople to anticipate heightened security at the event.
