Dr. Mark Emmert, president of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), is stepping down. He will continue in his role until a successor is found or by June 30, 2023.
"Throughout my tenure I've emphasized the need to focus on the experience and priorities of student-athletes," said Emmert. "I am extremely proud of the work of the Association over the last 12 years.”
NCAA schools are in the process of transforming structure and mission in accordance with a new constitution, adopted in January.
