CHIE SAKAKIBARA

Chie SakakibaraCHIE SAKAKIBARA has been appointed an associate professor of geography and the environment in the Native American and Indigenous studies program at Syracuse University. Most recently associate professor in environmental studies at Oberlin College, Sakakibara holds a bachelor’s in Native American studies, a master’s in art history and a Ph.D. in geography, all from the University of Oklahoma. Sakakibara is of Ryūkyūan descent, an indigenous group of southwestern Japan.
