Dr. A. Clifton Myles
College officials note that since joining Denmark Tech in 2019, Myles has been a central force in the institution’s transformation, helping to shape its strategic direction, elevate its academic profile and build infrastructure that empowers students to succeed. He has overseen multiple core divisions, including academic affairs, information technology, institutional advancement and effectiveness, student affairs, sponsored programs, workforce development, continuing education and facilities, while leading two primary strategic planning cycles and developing the college’s conceptual ecosystem for success.
Myles holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in professional theatre from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University, a master’s degree in adult education from Virginia Commonwealth University and a doctorate in curriculum and instruction from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. He has served in administrative roles at every level from pre-K through college, including as principal at the elementary, middle and high school levels, district coordinator, program leads, director of assessment, director of student support services, associate vice provost, provost and executive vice president.
