Howard University Launches New Program to Diversify Hollywood
Howard University is partnering with Amazon Studios to launch a new program aimed at diversifying Hollywood. The two-semester program, starting in January 2020, will bring 14 to 15 Howard University students to the epicenter of the industry.

The Possible Intersection Between the Elimination of the GRE’s and Interest Convergence
In light of that fact that issues of race and racism are deeply rooted in U.S. society, it is possible for race and racism to be attached to the policies, practices, procedures, and institutionalized systems of higher education. Interest convergence maybe useful for understanding the various ways ivory tower institutions benefit from eliminating the GRE, while concurrently accepting more minoritized students, with a particular focus on Black students.

Howard Professor and Surgeon Promotes Minority Organ Donation
Since the early 1980s, when transplant surgeon Dr. Clive Callender began addressing the issues that kept African-Americans from being organ donors, he has seen the rate of organ donation increase significantly. In the recently published paper, “Expanding the journey of saving lives,” Callender and co-author Dr. Patrice V. Miles examined how the increase has been achieved and how other minority populations can use similar means to bring about increases.
