The Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) will host the inaugural “Black Men in Medicine” strategy summit Oct. 20-21 in Washington, D.C., to foster efforts to bolster the number of Black men in the field of medicine.
This summit is an initiative of the Action Collaborative for Black Men in Medicine, which is sponsored by the AAMC and the National Medical Association (NMA). The collaborative seeks systemic solutions to increase representation and success of Black men in medicine.
One of the collaborative’s goals is to “use existing data and evidence to develop systems-based solutions to address exclusionary practices that create barriers for Black men and prevent them from having equitable opportunities to successfully enroll in medical school.”
